I AM WORKING ON IT

"I named my habit and have decided it is time for a change.  I looked at how it is affecting those around me and have decided it truly is time for a change. I am committed to working on this, even if I have to ask for help."
Is this a conversation that you have had in your head, and how many times? How many times have you gone on a diet, tried to quit smoking, stopped drinking, have been late for important appointments?

These habits are hard to break.  It takes great commitment to change. More importantly, it takes know how. Where do you start. Thrashing the thoughts in your head is not enough.  Perhaps you have looked at programs for smoking cessation, AA, or OA. Maybe you have even purchased time management programs to help you keep appointments.

The fact is, if any of that worked you probably wouldn't be here reading this blog.  We go to counselors, recovery meetings and consultants because speaking with others and working with them holds us accountable to someone other than ourselves.  The personal trainer industry is growing for just that reason.  People sign up at the gym, pay the monthly fee and either never get there or seldom get there.  Hiring a trainer holds them accountable and they show up more than likely.

Working with a life coach does much the same thing. You figure out what you want to work on and the coach holds you accountable...keeps you focused and helps you achieve your goals.  Still, it takes commitment on your part.  So the question of the day is...ARE YOU REALLY READY TO QUIT OR CHANGE?????
